About Us
Welcome to the Central Ohio Information Security Systems Association home page. We are the Columbus chapter of this non-profit organization, and our mission is to enhance the professional growth of our members via education, training and networking. We therefore support the goal of our national organization, and promote management practices that ensure the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of information resources.
Our Mission
Given the wide scope of components within the security field, the speed of technological developments. As both those protecting and threatening information resources, and expanding regulations, our calendar of events is quite active. We strive to provide the security professional with tools to enhance their technical skills and soft skills within the field, to keep abreast of emerging trends in the field, exposure to some of the nation’s security leaders from corporate institutions, government, academia, and vendors, and the opportunity to participate in training that will help security professionals and practitioners achieve and maintain expertise and certifications critical to long term career enhancement.

Chapter Meetings
We typically hold our monthly chapter meetings on the third Wednesday of every month. Topics can cover anything from High Level Risk Management best practices to discussion of latest exploits within commercial network devices.
Training
This year we will be offering our renowned CISSP Prep class held twice annually and has helped well over 150 of our members learn about the 10 domains of the CBK and pass the CISSP exam. We also provide formal training such as Ethical Hacking, Web Hacking, Identity and Access Management, and other topics. We also have arrangements with many large vendors in the area to offer product training at a discounted rate.
Special Events
We also have special events that we are working towards such as a year end party and our soon to be second annual golf outing.
If you are one of our 200-plus members, we expect your feedback and critique of programs, training, and overall performance of your organization. If you have the time to become more active in the chapter, we hope you will find a way to volunteer and lend your direct support. It’s your chapter.
